A procedure to protect steel components from corrosion.
Electrical current is applied to the sheet metal plate and immersed into an electrolyte bath. This generates a layer of zinc between approx. 0.003 and 0.020 mm thick (DIN EN ISO 12329). This process takes place at a temperature range between 20 and 60°C, which makes it perfectly suitable for sheet metal plates less than 2.00 mm thick.
Acorrosion protection procedure during which the parts are dipped into a bath of molten zinc. A zinc layer between 0.05 to 0.15 mm is created (DIN EN ISO 1461). The temperature range is between 440 bis 460°C. However, this process is not recommended for plate thicknesses less than 2.00 mm and hole widths less than 7 mm.
